One of the most famous monuments in both Turkish and Islamic worlds, Sultan Ahmet Mosque (also known as the Blue Mosque) is a superb creation in the classical Ottoman style. The mosque has six towering minarets and 260 windows illuminating its vast main chamber, which is decorated with more than 20,000 Iznik tiles.

Now a museum, Hagia Sophia was built in the 6th century by the Emperor Justinian, and was one of the largest basilicas in the Christian world. After the Ottoman conquest, it was converted to a mosque and is today one of the most magnificent museums in the world.

From the oval road that surrounds the Hippodrome, you can easily imagine the chariot races that were held here in Byzantine times.

Take the chance to browse the 4,000-odd shops at the Grand Bazaar, all selling traditional handicrafts such as rugs, kilims, leathers, jewelry, and souvenirs.

Please Note:

Blue Mosque is closed on Fridays until 14:30 pm and in the morning tours it will be replaced with Nuru Osmaniye Mosque.

Hagia Sophia can be visited on Mondays as well until 26th October. After October it is closed every Monday.

Grand Bazaar is closed on Sundays and will be replaced with Spice Market.

Children aged 12 and under are free of charge. Please make sure that you have passport copies of children as we have to verify their ages at museums for free tickets.
